BRUNSWICK — Lydia Caputi scored a game-high 19 points and Bowdoin College scored the final 15 points of the game to beat Trinity 76-61 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday.

Kate Kerrigan scored eight of her 17 points in the fourth quarter for Bowdoin (13-3, 3-2).

Bowdoin trailed 37-32 at halftime but battled back to take a 56-55 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Abigail Kelly scored 12 points off the bench, while Marle Curle had eight points, eight assists and three steals for Bowdoin.

Courtney Erickson scored 13 points to lead the Bantams (11-5, 2-3).

UNE 57, SALVE REGINA 45: Sam MacDonald scored a game-high 15 points and the Nor’easters (11-5, 8-2 CCC) opened the game on a 9-0 run to beat the Hawks (5-12, 3-7) in Newport, Rhode Island.

Alicia Brown had nine points and nine rebounds for UNE. The Nor’easters went on a 13-2 run to open the third quarter to take its biggest lead of the game at 42-21 with 4:28 left in the quarter.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 78, UM-MACHIAS 34: Alexis Antonacci scored 15 points off the bench as the Seawolves (19-1, 11-1 YSCC) cruised to a win over the Clippers (6-9, 6-4) in Machias.

Antonacci scored 11 points in the third quarter as SMCC outscored the Clippers, 31-8.

Alicia Ruth added 12 points for SMCC, while Kaylah Abdul added 11 points.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT ST. 64, SOUTHERN MAINE 41: Lexis Foster had 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Warriors (10-5, 5-1 LEC) beat the Huskies (2-14, 1-5) in Willimantic, Connecticut.

Jordyn Nappi and Kelsey Santagata each added 12 points for the Warriors.

Jackie Luckhardt scored 13 points and Alex Srolovitz 10 for the Huskies.

AMHERST 69, COLBY 43: Madeline Eck scored 13 points as the No. 2 ranked Purple and White (17-0, 5-0 NESCAC) beat the Mules (8-8, 2-3) at Waterville.

Hannah Hackey added 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists for Amherst, which held the Mules to four field goals in the second quarter and led 41-23 at halftime.

MK Caverly had 11 points for Colby.

ST. JOSEPH’S 65, SIMMONS 57: Emily Benway had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and the Monks (14-2, 8-0 GNAC) went on a 19-9 run in the second half to beat the Sharks (5-7, 5-2) in Boston.

Kelsi McNamara and Julia Champagne each added 13 points for St. Joseph’s.

Hannah Marks scored 10 points off the bench.

WESLEYAN 62, BATES 58: Heidi Scarth scored 17 points off the bench and the Pioneers (6-10, 1-5 NESCAC) battled back from an eight-point third- quarter deficit to beat the Bobcats (5-10, 2-4) in Middleton, Connecticut.

Nina Davenport scored 23 points for the Bobcats.

(2) BAYLOR 79, (24) WEST VIRGINIA 73: Alexis Jones scored 16 points as the Bears (19-1, 8-0 Big 12) stretched their winning streak to 17 games with a win over the Mountaineers (15-5, 3-5) in Waco, Texas.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 2, MIDDLEBURY 1: Marissa Fichter scored the game-winning goal with 56 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Polar Bears (9-6-2, 4-4-1 NESCAC) over the Panthers (9-3-2, 5-2-1) in Brunswick.

Jill Rathke gave Bowdoin a 1-0 lead 2:48 into the second period. Janka Hlinka scored with 1:30 left in regulation to tie it for Middlebury.

Lin Han made 20 saves for Bowdoin.

SOUTHERN MAINE 4, NICHOLS 0: Alex Mitchell had a goal and two assists as the Huskies (5-11, 3-6 NEHC) beat the Bisons (0-16-1, 0-9) in Harrisville, Rhode Island.

Ally Vanidestine, Katie Courture and Katie Nolan also scored for the Huskies, who scored three goals in the third period.

Courtney Davis stopped 18 shots for USM.

AMHERST 5, COLBY 1: Alex Toupal had two goals and an assist as Amherst (9-4-2, 5-3-2 NESCAC) beat the Mules (0-13-3, 0-9-1) in Waterville.

Katie Savage, Jocelyn Hunyadi and Sara Culhane also scored for Amherst.

Katie McLaughlin scored the lone goal for Colby. Halley Fine had 28 saves.

NEW HAMPSHIRE 7, MAINE 0: Jonna Curtis had three goals and two assists as the Wildcats (11-13-1, 9-7-1 WHEA) dominated the Black Bears (8-16-1, 4-12-1) in Durham, New Hampshire.

Abby Chapman, Julia Fedeski, Carlee Toews and Marie-Jo Pelletier also scored for New Hampshire, which scored twice in the second period and five times in the third.

SAINT ANSELM 9, UNE 0: Victoria Shea had three goals and an assist, while Mary Morrison added two goals and the Hawks (13-2-2, 10-1 New England Hockey Conference) beat the Nor’easters (6-9-2, 3-5-1) in Manchester, New Hampshire.
