Your article about Intermed no longer accepting new Community Health Options patients (Jan. 17) caught my attention.
My primary care doctor closed her practice last September. Several people suggested that I go to an Intermed physician. When I called to see if this doctor was accepting new patients, I was told “yes.”
Then I was asked what my insurance was; when I responded “Medicare,” I was told that Intermed was not accepting new Medicare patients.
Was the decision not to accept new Medicare patients difficult? Was it in the best interests of the patients? Where do we go for our primary care?
