The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three people in Auburn on heroin and cocaine charges Monday.
MDEA Cmdr. Scott J. Pelletier identified the suspects as Joshua Stevens, 29; Mandy Chouinard, 28; and Steven Webster, 39, all of Auburn. Stevens and Chouinard also were charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
According to Pelletier, Chouinard had stopped reporting to her probation officer, and that led officers to Webster’s home at 1252 Hotel Road. A search of the home resulted in the recovery of 60 grams of heroin, 6.6 grams of cocaine, electronic scales and an AR-15 assault rifle. The street value of the drugs is $12,000. The heroin was equivalent to 600 doses, Pelletier said.
Chouinard’s 5-year-old child was in the home when police raided it. The Department of Health and Human Services was contacted and will provide care for the child.
Stevens, Chouinard, and Webster were each charged with possession of a scheduled drug, while Stevens was also charged with trafficking heroin, a Class A felony. They are being held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn and are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
