SCARBOROUGH — Delaney Haines had seven points, including two late free throws, and Deering outscored Scarborough 9-5 in overtime to earn a 48-44 win Monday in girls’ basketball.

Haines and Katasia Titherington each scored 16 points for Deering (10-7). Abi Ramirez added 11 points.

Sophie Glidden scored 15 for Scarborough (9-5) and Jocelyn Couture added 10.

SANFORD 65, MARSHWOOD 60: Molly Boissonneault drove to the basket off the opening tap of overtime and gave the Spartans (8-9) a quick lead over the Hawks (13-4). Sanford added nine free throws in the extra period to pull away in South Berwick.

Summer Camire, who staked Sanford to an early 22-16 lead with 20 first-quarter points, finished with 24 points. Angelina Bisson’s 14 points led Marshwood.

GREELY 59, KENNEBUNK 27: Brooke Obar scored 22 points as the Rangers (16-1) beat the Rams (8-9) in Cumberland.

Anna DeWolfe added 15 points for Greely. Gabby Fogg had 18 points for the Rams.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, HYDE 21: Victoria Niedzwiecki led a balanced attack with eight points as the Seagulls (10-6) beat the Phoenix (3-13) in Old Orchard Beach.

Timesha Walker had 11 points for Hyde.

PORTLAND 53, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 48: Taylor Sargent scored 15 points as the Bulldogs (3-14) beat the Lions (7-10) in Portland.

Shayla Eubanks added 15 points for Portland.

Jill Joyce had 16 points for MGA.

WELLS 37, POLAND 30: Natalie Thurber sank a pair of 3-pointers, with Allyson O’Brien and Mackenzie Foss draining one each, as Wells (12-5) outscored the Knights (11-6) by 10 points during the second quarter to open a 21-14 lead in Poland.

PINE TREE 51, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 27: Alex Goodman scored 10 points as the Breakers (12-5) rallied from a 10-8 deficit to take a 27-16 halftime lead over the Guardians (3-15) in South Berwick.

Goodman finished with 25 points for the Breakers.

YORK 40, FRYEBURG 33: Lily Posternak keyed the defense as the Wildcats (11-6) outscored the Raiders (8-9) 11-3 in the second quarter to open a 20-9 halftime lead in York.

Posternak finished with nine points for York. Mackenzie Buzzell had 18 for Fryeburg.

SANFORD 55, MARSHWOOD 50: Ethan Belanger scored five points in overtime as the Spartans (7-10) beat the Hawks (5-12) in Sanford.

Belanger finished with 18 points. Ian Parmley had 19 for the Hawks.

DEERING 83, SCARBOROUGH 52: Ben Onek scored 15, Raffaele Salamone 13 and Orey Dutton 12 to lead the Rams (12-5) past the Red Storm (5-12) in Portland.

Nicholas Fiorillo’s 20 points led the Red Storm.

YORK 52, FRYEBURG 47: Cameron Smith’s six points down the stretch helped York (10-7) hold off the Raiders (8-9) in Fryeburg.

Trevor LaBonte led the Wildcats with 18 points; Jackson McCarty added 14 and Smith 13. Cody Gullikson had 16 points for Fryeburg.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

William Fenton Jr. was hired as the head coach of the Cheverus girls’ varsity lacrosse team. Fenton, a graduate of Maine Maritime, served as head coach of the girls’ lacrosse program for South Portland High School from 2009-14.
