Maine State Police have arrested a Gray man who was wanted on charges of domestic violence and aggravated assault.
Police Cpl. Douglas Cropper saw a vehicle parked at a home in Hollis on Friday morning that was believed to belong to Wayne Conley, 38, according to the state police Facebook page. Conley had warrants from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for domestic violence terrorizing and aggravated criminal trespass, police said.
Troopers were aware that Conley had a violent criminal history and had run from law enforcement, state police said. As they were setting up a perimeter, Conley exited the home and began to drive away, they said. When he noticed a police cruiser, he backed up and went back inside.
A short time later, Conley left the home again and was arrested by Sgt. Jonathan Shapiro, police said. Conley was taken to York County Jail and transferred to the Cumberland County Jail.
