BIDDEFORD – Kohl’s department store reopened Friday after being closed the day before when the roof was discovered sagging under the weight of snow, according to Biddeford police.

Engineers determined that the 66,000-square-foot structure “appears to be in safe useable condition and can be occupied,” according to a news release from the Biddeford Police Department on Friday.

The store was previously demolished and rebuilt because the original structure was sinking into the ground. The old store was razed early in 2014, and the new one opened in September 2014.
