SCARBOROUGH — A car crashed into Lois’ Natural Marketplace late Saturday morning, shattering glass, damaging merchandise and closing the store for the day.
Fire Capt. Nathaniel Contreras said the driver was a young man who apparently hit the gas instead of the brake while trying to park in front of the natural food store at 152 Route 1, according to WCSH-TV. Members of the driver’s family were in the car. No one was hurt in the crash, which occurred around 11 a.m.
Contreras said the store suffered no major structural harm, but a large amount of merchandise was damaged. A sign on the store said it was closed for the day. Workers making repairs said they expected the store would be ready to reopen Sunday.
