Staff at the Brunswick Police Department heard a thud at 7:25 a.m. Sunday and looked out the window to see electric wires swaying and a Subaru sitting on its roof, right in front of the station.

“We usually rely on the public for calling in emergencies and we’re rarely both the caller AND the dispatcher,” the department quipped on its Facebook page.

The four people in the car had only minor injuries, the police said. The driver had fallen asleep, hit a snowbank, and a telephone pole. Utility crews were on scene for several hours, replacing it.
