The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Mill Street in Brunswick on Sunday night has died from his injuries.
Brunswick police said Caleb Maxham, 20, of Warren, died Monday morning at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was taken to Maine Med after being hit while crossing the road in a dimly lit area. He was wearing dark clothing and tried crossing a section of the street where there was no crosswalk, police said.
Brunswick Rescue took Maxham to Maine Med with critical injuries. Police initially reported inn error that Maxham had died late Sunday night.
Maxham was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Kyle Feltis, 31, of Brunswick. Feltis had exited Route 1 and was driving west on Mill Street when the crash occurred a few minutes after 8 p.m. Maxham was crossing from the south shoulder of the road, police said.
