Re: “Protesters disrupt ceremony honoring Portland police chief” (Feb. 22), where protesters interrupted Police Chief Michael Sauschuck’s award ceremony:
Shame on these people, who don’t realize what a dangerous job our police have.
Police put their life on the line on a daily basis. The recent shooting illustrates that an officer has to make a life-or-death decision in milliseconds.
Chief Sauschuck and the men and women in his department do an outstanding job and should not be vilified.
