Sen. Angus King has asked for constituent input about the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Here’s mine: King and everyone else in the Senate should insist that there are fundamental questions to be answered to determine whether the president has legitimacy to make appointments before the appointments are considered. They should insist on tax returns and a full investigation of Russian ties before they act on anything else the president wants to do.

The Senate has done little since inauguration but assist this administration in its fast-moving efforts to dismantle our democracy.
