DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Ryan Lever’s sacrifice fly brought home Matt Hosman in the sixth inning, and the University of Massachusetts rallied to a 10-6 victory over Maine in a nonconference baseball game on Sunday.

The Minutemen (2-4) entered the sixth down 6-4, but Eddy Hart drew a bases-loaded walk and Brett Evangelista’s bunt plated the tying run.

Cooper Mrowka homered and drove in four runs for Massachusetts and Jon Avallone also went deep.

Hernen Sardinas had three hits and Tyler Schawnz homered for Maine (6-8), which had 11 hits through the first five innings, but just two over the final four.

BOWDOIN, ROGER WILLIAMS SPLIT: Joe Gentile singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning to lift Bowdoin (1-1) to a 7-4 victory over Roger Williams (1-3) in the opener of a doubleheader at Lakeland, Florida.

Evann Dumont-LaPointe added a two-run homer for Bowdoin in the seventh.

Ryan Dixon (1-0) picked up the win with 22/3 innings of relief.

In the second game, Roger Williams scored three runs in the third and went on to a 5-0 win.

Tyler Brett (1-0) earned the victory, striking out nine over six innings while allowing two hits.

SOFTBALL

WISCONSIN 10, MAINE 6: The Badgers (19-2) capitalized on errors and rallied to defeat the Black Bears (2-9) in Fort Collins, Colorado.

After trailing 6-3, the Badgers tied it on an RBI single by Stephanie Lombardo in the fourth, then took the lead in the fifth on an error – one of seven in the game for the Black Bears.

Lombardo added a three-run homer in the sixth.

Rachel Carson led Maine with three hits and two RBI.

BATES 8, FITCHBURG STATE 4: Julia Treadwell hit a three-run homer in the fifth and the Bobcats (4-3) defeated the Falcons (0-1) in Clermont, Florida.

Maddie Inlow had three hits and two RBI, with a solo home run in the fourth for Bates.

Kirsten Pelletier (3-1) got the win, striking out seven.

BATES 5, STEVENSON 3: The Bobcats (5-3) rallied from a 3-0 deficit and beat Stevenson (0-2) in their second game Sunday in Clermont, Florida.

With Bates trailing 3-1 in the fourth, Inlow smashed a go-ahead three-run homer to center field.

Inlow added another homer on a solo shot in the sixth inning.

Naomi Fields led Stevenson with two hits, including an RBI triple.

Sam Fellers (1-2) picked up the win, allowing six hits and two earned runs.

UNE 13, BECKER 2: The University of New England (1-2) finished with 12 unanswered runs in routing the Hawks (0-2) in five innings at Leesburg, Florida.

Caroline Schoenbucher led the Nor’easters with three hits and four RBI. Anna Sessa added a two-run triple.

Sydnee Bessler (1-1) struck out six in three innings for the win.

MEN’S LACROSSE

BATES 23, AMHERST 17: Kyle Weber scored nine goals to lead the Bobcats (4-0, 2-0) over the Purple & White (2-1, 1-1) in a NESCAC matchup at Lewiston.

The Bobcats raced out to a 5-1 lead in the first 8:15 of the match, with Weber scoring three goals in the stretch.

Clarke Jones added four goals for Bates.

Evan Wolf led Amherst with eight goals.

COLBY 8, TRINITY 5: The Mules (1-2, 1-1) got out to a 3-0 lead and held on to defeat the Bantams (1-2, 0-2) in a NESCAC game at Hartford, Connecticut.

Kevin Seiler led Colby with three goals, and Austin Sayre added two. C.J. Layton recorded 17 saves.
