Cumberland County Manager Peter Crichton announced Monday he would be leaving his position after 18 years to take on duties as Auburn’s city manager.
Crichton took on the job in Cumberland County in 1999. He did not announce his departure date.
Prior to working for Cumberland County, Crichton was the assistant city manager in Lewiston from 1996 to 1999, according to an online professional profile.
The five county commissioners thanked Crichton for his service.
