POLAND — Ryan Twitchell pitched a perfect game and struck out 18 batters as the Greely baseball team beat Poland 4-0 on Monday.

Twitchell struck out the first 10 batters. He also cleanly fielded a pair of bunts in the sixth inning. The only ball hit by a Poland batter to get past the pitcher’s mound was a groundout by Jake Wiseman in the fourth inning.

Greely (6-1) scored on an error in the first inning, and Connor Sullivan hit a two-run single as the Rams scored three runs in the sixth.

Twitchell had a single, a run scored and two stolen bases.

Poland is 2-6.

GORHAM 2, WESTBROOK 1: Logan Drouin struck out seven and Nolan Brown had two RBI to lead the Rams (5-2) over the Blue Blazes (4-3) in Westbrook.

Kyle Champagne scored in the first inning to give Westbrook a 1-0 lead.

Brown drove in a run in the second with a groundout, then hit an RBI single in the fourth to give the Rams the lead.

Drouin got the win, allowing four hits, no walks and one earned run in a complete game.

Westbrook’s Dylan Francoeur (3-1) also went the distance but took the loss, allowing seven hits, one earned run and one walk with seven strikeouts.

WELLS 2, YORK 1: Gary Andrews led off the eighth innings with a single, advanced on a throwing error and scored on a single by Michael Wrigley as the Warriors (5-2) outlasted the Wildcats (4-2) at Wells.

Andrew Rodrigues drove in Tim McDonald in the first inning to give York a 1-0 lead.

Matt Tufts led off the fifth inning with a single for Wells. Trevor Villemaire entered as a pinch runner and scored on a single by Andrews.

Cameron Cousins went the distance for the Warriors, allowing one run on six hits, with a walk and a strikeout.

Trevor LaBonte pitched seven innings for the Wildcats, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out nine and walking one.

SCARBOROUGH 2, SANFORD 0: Zoltan Panyi pitched a three-hitter and the Red Storm (4-2) held off the Spartans (2-5) in Scarborough.

Panyi struck out eight and walked one. Zachary Alofs broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with an RBI single. Cameron Seymour added an RBI single in the fifth.

Frank Veino got the loss in a complete-game effort, allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out six.

FREEPORT 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Josh Spaulding threw a shutout and the Falcons (3-3) scored all their runs in the first inning to beat the Rams (2-7) in Kennebunk.

Spaulding allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out five.

Bennett Hight hit a two-run single in the top of the first to give Freeport a 2-0 lead.

Bryan Hickey and Jack Kiley each had two hits for Kennebunk. Cole Hoffman took the loss in a complete-game effort, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven.

TRAIP ACADEMY 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Trevor Salema threw a four-hitter and hit an RBI single, and the Rangers (5-1) held off the Panthers (2-4) in Yarmouth.

Salema struck out four, and Teddy Driscoll hit an RBI single in the fourth inning that gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead.

Shane MacNeill added two hits and an RBI.

Wallace Jackson had two hits for the Panthers.

CARRABEC/MADISON 11, BOOTHBAY 1: Aaron Morgan had two singles, three RBI and scored twice to lead the Bandits (4-3) past the Seagulls (1-3) in North Anson.

Jordan Hadley added two singles, two RBI and two runs scored for Carrabec.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 10, WAYNFLETE 1: Jacob Maloney doubled and drove in two runs, while Thomas Fregeau had three hits as the Seagulls (3-1) beat the Flyers (0-4) in Portland.

Chandler Payea tripled for Old Orchard Beach, which led 6-0 after three innings.

Peterson Silk drove in a run in the sixth inning for Waynflete.

ST. DOMINIC 5, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Justin Keaney pitched three innings of scoreless relief to lift the Saints (4-2) to a win over the Hawks (2-5) in Auburn.

Jacques Ouellette had a single and a double for St. Dominic. He scored from second on an error in the fifth to give St. Dominic the lead. Another run scored when Keaney’s long fly to center was misplayed.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

CHEVERUS 8, GORHAM 7: Michael Hatch scored the winning goal in the fourth overtime to lift the Stags (3-2) past the Rams (3-2) in Gorham.

Maxwell Coffin scored two goals, while Colby Anton and Michael Cawley each added one. Cheverus led 7-6 late in the fourth quarter, but a goal by Gorham’s Christopher Tucker with 1:12 left forced overtime.

The Rams trailed 6-3 at halftime. A goal from Alex York with 44 seconds left in the third quarter completed a 3-0 scoring run to tie the game at 6 heading into the fourth.
