I want to commend Noel K. Gallagher for her very thoughtful and comprehensive article about using the play “Hamilton” to teach history in our local schools (May 3). The article rightfully shines a light on the creative abilities of students and staff in making history come alive. Bravo!
I would like to see a daily piece on education in your paper. You cover Portland and surrounding communities’ sports stories. There are many interesting and inspiring stories that could be written about the many other aspects of school life. Please consider my proposal. I really can’t think of a topic of more importance to the communities that you serve and, of course, to the nation that we inhabit.
Once again, bravo to Ms. Gallagher and to the Portland Press Herald for this fine news article.
