Almost 2,500 Portland customers lost power for a short time Monday night, Central Maine Power Co. reported.

The 2,475 outages appeared to be concentrated in the city’s West End as of 10 p.m., and included customers on Congress Street, Deering Avenue, Danforth Street and State Street.

Power had been restored to those customers by about 10:45 p.m.

CMP also reported about 2,102 outages in Kennebec County, with about 1,395 of them in Hallowell. Those customers remained without power about 11 p.m.

It is unclear what caused the outages, or if they were weather-related.
