BOSTON — Ryan O’Reilly scored 2:59 into overtime Saturday night to give the Buffalo Sabres a 5-4 victory against the Boston Bruins, capping a comeback from a pair of three-goal deficits.

Jack Eichel, a former Boston University star and Hobey Baker winner, had a goal for the Sabres. Jason Pominville and Benoit Pouliot and Evander Kane also scored for Buffalo, which has one regulation win this season. Robin Lehner stopped 27 shots.

Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak each scored two goals for the Bruins, and Anton Khudobin made 37 saves.

The Bruins held leads of 3-0 and 4-1, but Buffalo tied it when Kane scored out of a scramble in front with 2:08 left in regulation.

O’Reilly then won it when he spun from the side of the net and slipped a backhander over Khudobin.

FLYERS 2, OILERS 1: Wayne Simmonds scored with an assist from Valtteri Filppula with 2:15 left to break a tie and lead Philadelphia at home.

Rangers 4, Predators 2: Kevin Hayes and Jimmy Vesey each had a goal and an assist as New York won at home to snap a five-game skid.

LIGHTNING 7, PENGUINS 1: Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov extended their season-opening points streaks to nine games and Tampa Bay won at home.

ISLANDERS 5, SHARKS 3: Anders Lee had two goals and an assist to lead New York at home.

KINGS 6, BLUE JACKETS 4: Anze Kopitar broke a tie with 2:14 left with his second goal of the game and Los Angeles won at Columbus, Ohio, to remain the only team unbeaten in regulation.

SENATORS 6, MAPLE LEAFS 3: Derick Brassard and Mark Stone each had two goals and an assist, Erik Karlsson added three assists and Ottawa won at home.

PENGUINS-RED WINGS: Pittsburgh acquired forward Riley Sheahan and a 2018 fifth-round draft pick from Detroit for forward Scott Wilson and a 2018 third-round draft pick.
