Golfers raise $7,000 for Special Olympians

The sixth annual Tee Up & Drive at the Sanford Country Club raised more than $7,000 for Waban Special Olympians.

Several Special Olympians met golfers at the fundraiser, handed out goodie bags, carried golf bags and wished golfers good luck.

These athletes attend the Summer Games at the University of Maine at Orono in June and travel by coach bus. Proceeds from the golf tournament cover the expenses of travel and training, allowing athletes to look forward to the competition and camaraderie.
