SALEM, Mass. — Mayele Malango and Nahuel Aligbay teamed up for all of the scoring as Salem State shut out the University of Southern Maine 2-0 Tuesday in a nonconference men’s soccer game.

Malango setup Aligbay at the 19:36 mark to give Salem State (10-5) a 1-0 halftime lead and the players turned the tables as Aligbay scored on a Malanago feed in the 51st minute.

Richard Glemawu and Simo Hulbert split time in net for Southern Maine (6-10-2) and combined for six saves. Chris Jimenez had a pair of saves for the Vikings.

BOWDOIN 0, TUFTS 0: Stevie Van Siclen stopped three shots for the Polar Bears (10-3-2, 6-2-2 NESCAC) and Conner Mieth recorded a single save for the Jumbos (12-1-2, 7-1-2) as the teams played to a tie at Medford, Massachusetts.

With the tie, Tufts secured the top spot in the upcoming NESCAC tournament.

Bowdoin will be the No. 2 seed if Amherst loses Wednesday night and will not fall any further than the third seed.

NICHOLS 2, UNE 1: Paul Sickinger and Ryan Banker each scored in the first half for the Bison (7-8-2, 3-6 CCC) in a win over the Nor’easters (4-14, 3-6) at Dudley, Massachusetts.

Caleb DeMello scored for UNE midway through the second half.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

TUFTS 1, BOWDOIN 0: Mariah Harvey-Brown scored at the 34:38 mark as the Jumbos (8-4-3, 6-2-2 NESCAC) edged the Polar Bears (9-5-1, 4-5-1) in a season finale at Somerville, Massachusetts.

Rachel Strout had three saves for Bowdoin, and Emily Bowers stopped six shots for the shutout.

BATES 2, COLBY 0: Olivia Amdur scored twice in the first half to lead the Bobcats (7-7-1, 3-6-1 NESCAC) past the Mules (4-9-2, 0-9-1) at Lewiston.

Sarah McCarthy stopped three shots for the shutout; Shannon Gray and Dani Lonati combined for three saves for Colby.

SOUTHERN MAINE 8, PINE MANOR 1: Emma Cost recorded her hat trick in the span of 18 minutes in the first half as the Huskies (5-11) easily handled the Gators (3-9) in a nonconference matchup at Gorham.

Dayna Staffiere had a goal and a pair of assists as Southern Maine built a 7-1 lead at intermission. Izabella Lewis had a goal and an assist, and Maddy Richardson, Maddison Eagan and Hana McNally also scored.
