The athletic field is an extension of the classroom. High school athletics are about safety, sportsmanship, teamwork, fun and making sure the kids are in class the next day.
When you hear or see an out-of-control coach, player or parent, ask yourself “Would that person behave that way in the classroom?” The answer is: No! There are too many out-of-control coaches, players and parents. It needs to stop!
Winning can be accomplished without degrading, berating or dehumanizing an opponent or an official.
