Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences announced the appointment of Deborah Bronk as president and CEO.
Bronk is the Moses D. Nunnally Distinguished Professor of Marine Sciences and department chair at Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences.
She previously served as division director for the National Science Foundation’s Division of Ocean Science and as president of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography.
She will assume her new role at the nonprofit marine research institute March 1.

Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty has hired Susan Desgrosseilliers as a vice president in its Camden office.
Desgrosseilliers, who splits her time between Portland and the mid-coast, spent the past 15 years working in design as the owner of Fixtures Maine LLC.

Melanie Wendell joined Camden National Bank as vice president and mortgage loan officer.
Wendell previously held the same role at Gorham Savings Bank for four years and at Kennebunk Savings for 17 years.

Julie Court joined Alliance Realty in Westbrook as a Realtor and sales agent.
Court specializes in southern Maine real estate marketing and has experience in residential and commercial properties.

 

Jim Fox joined Chase Custom Homes & Finance Inc. in Westbrook as a sales representative and client relations manager.
Fox previously worked in modular construction with Hallmark Homes. He brings 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry and is a licensed loan officer.
