ORONO — Michelle Weis scored 35 seconds into overtime to give Maine a 4-3 win over Connecticut in a Hockey East game Sunday at Alfond Arena.

Tereza Vanisova’s goal 5:20 into the third period put Maine (8-5-1, 3-2-1 Hockey East) up 3-2, but UConn (4-4-3, 0-3-2) tied it on a power-play goal by Natalie Snodgrass with 8:29 remaining.

Catherine Tufts and Vendula Pribylova also scored and Carly Jackson made 22 saves for Maine, which has a four-game unbeaten streak.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 69, ST. CLAIR COUNTY CC 61: Emily Emerson scored 26 points to lead SMCC (3-2) over the Skippers (0-2) in South Portland.

Abigail Ramirez contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and three assists.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. CLAIR COUNTY CC 68, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 62: The Skippers (1-1) finished with a 22-9 run to defeat the Seawolves (5-1) in South Portland.

Ryan Cloutier led SMCC with 16 points. Willie Brown scored 13 points, and Dylan Silvestri added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
