PORTLAND, Ore. — Freshman Marvin Bagley III had a career-high 34 points and added 15 rebounds, and No. 1 Duke rallied to defeat Texas 85-78 in overtime on Friday in the semifinals of the PK80 Invitational.

Gary Trent Jr. added 17 points for the Blue Devils (7-0), who trailed by 16 points in the second half and were forced to play five freshmen once senior Grayson Allen fouled out.

Dylan Osetkowski had 19 points and seven rebounds for Texas (4-1), which fell short of its first-ever victory over a top-ranked team.

(3) KANSAS 102, OAKLAND 59: Udoka Azubuike had a career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds and seven players finished in double figures for the host Jayhawks (5-0) against Oakland (2-3).

(5) VILLANOVA 64, NORTHERN IOWA 50: Mikal Bridges scored 18 points and Villanova (6-0) pulled away from Northern Iowa (5-2) in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game at Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Jalen Brunson added 16 points and was named the tournament’s most valuable player for the Wildcats, who led most of the way, then used an 8-0 run in the final 4 minutes pull away.

(9) NORTH CAROLINA 87, ARKANSAS 68: Luke Maye had career-highs with 28 points and 16 rebounds and Kenny Williams had 16 of his 19 points in the second half for the Tar Heels in their semifinal win over Arkansa (4-1) in the PK80 Invitational.

North Carolina was smothering on defense, holding the Razorbacks under 80 points for the first time this season.

(14) MINNESOTA 69, MASSACHUSETTS 51: Jordan Murphy scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to spark Minnesota (6-0) past the Minutemen (3-2) in the Barclays Center Classic at New York. Amir Coffey added nine points for the Golden Gophers. Luwane Pipkins led Massachusetts with 18.

ARIZONA ST. 102, (15) XAVIER 86: Tra Holder scored a career-high 40 points to lead Arizona State (6-0) past Xavier (5-1) in the championship game of the Las Vegas Invitational.

Holder scored 23 of his 40 points in the second half for Arizona State (6-0), which shot 55.9 percent from the field.

(19) LOUISVILLE 84, SAINT FRANCIS (PA.) 72: Ray Spalding had 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds before leaving midway through the second half with an injury, and host Louisville (4-0) held off Saint Francis (2-3).

Spalding’s layup provided a 66-44 lead with 12:38 remaining, but the junior forward went to the locker room several minutes later with what appeared to be an ankle injury.

WOMEN

(2) TEXAS 75, LSU 66: Ariel Atkins scored 17 points and Jatarie White added 14 to lead Texas (4-0) to a win over LSU (2-3) in the Las Vegas Shootout.

Atkins, who had four steals, made six of her eight attempts from the field.

Lashann Higgs added 13 points while Brooke McCarty had 11 points for the Longhorns.

(3) SOUTH CAROLINA 78, RUTGERS 68: A’ja Wilson scored a career-high 33 points, Lindsey Spann added 17 and the Gamecocks (5-0) survived a serious test before beating Rutgers (4-1) in the quarterfinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase at Estero, Florida.

Wilson went 15 for 17 from the foul line for South Carolina, which won its 16th consecutive game dating to last season.

(4) LOUISVILLE 115, MURRAY STATE 51: Kylee Shook scored a career-high 21 points and fellow reserve Bionca Dunham also had career highs of 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (6-0) to a rout of Murray State (1-4) at home.

(6) NOTRE DAME 77, EAST TENNESSEE STATE 46: Jessica Shepard scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures, and Notre Dame (4-0) moved into the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase with a win over East Tennessee State (4-2).
