The Casco Bay Bridge was closed Thursday morning while police investigated an accident in Portland that sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash at 7 a.m. on York Street involved at least two cars, one of which hit the side of 22 Park St. and struck a gas main. The Casco Bay Bridge was closed for nearly an hour as emergency crews responded to the scene and Unitil repaired the gas main, according to Portland police.
Lt. Robert Martin said only minor injuries were reported and no one was charged in connection with the crash. One patient was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The bridge closure caused traffic delays in both Portland and South Portland.
