Two former Saco employees have been charged with criminal invasion of computer privacy.
Joseph Hirsch and Kevin Lombard both worked for the Saco Parks and Recreation Department. Hirsch was the director; Lombard was the director of programs.
Saco Deputy Police Chief Jack Clements said he could not release any details on the case because it is an ongoing investigation.
Clements confirmed the two men were charged Nov. 1. They received summonses for a hearing Jan. 17 in Biddeford District Court. Neither the court nor the York County district attorney’s office could provide more information on the case.
The charge – criminal invasion of computer privacy – is a Class D misdemeanor. It is punishable by up to 364 days incarceration and a $2,000 fine.
As of Friday afternoon, Lombard and Hirsch were still listed as members of the parks and recreation staff on the city’s website. But City Administrator Kevin Sutherland said they were no longer Saco employees as of Oct. 20.
Sutherland declined to comment further.
“I don’t discuss personnel matters,” he said.
