AUGUSTA — Maine Gov. Paul LePage says his thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and community affected by the school shooting in Connecticut.
LePage called it a horrific event and said he and his wife Ann will continue to pray for the families of the children and staff members who lost their lives "in what should be the safest of places, their school."
LePage ordered United States and Maine flags be flown at half-staff through Tuesday evening in accordance with a proclamation from President Obama as a mark of respect for the victims of Friday's shooting.
