Ainge to coach Red Claws

The Maine Red Claws today named Austin Ainge as the franchise’s first head coach.

Ainge, 27, is the son of Danny Ainge, president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, one of two NBA affiliates with the Portland-based Red Claws. Austin Ainge most recently served as a scout for the Celtics.

The Red Claws begin their inaugural season in November.
