— From staff reports

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Portland Pirates scored four goals in the third period Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Cody McCormick had two goals and an assist, and Tyler Ennis scored the tie-breaking goal with 14:03 remaining.

Hartford led 1-0 after the first period on a short-handed goal by Ryan Garlock on a two-on-none break.

McCormick tied it at 15:05 of the second, then scored a power-play goal 57 seconds into the third to make it 2-1.

The Wolf Pack quickly answered with another short-handed goal, this time by Brodie Dupont. But Ennis restored Portland's lead with his eighth goal of the season, and Philip Gogulla's goal with 9:33 remaining gave the Pirates a 4-2 advantage.

Brad Larsen added an empty-netter in the final minute.

Jhonas Enroth made 16 saves for the Pirates, who outshot the Wolf Pack 29-18.
