Sometimes when you want something cool to wear you just have to make it, simple as that.

Take Talya Corsetti, for instance.

It's been over a year since Corsetti's clothing company, Coco Magoo, opened based on that straightforward idea.

In October 2006 Corsetti and Lisa Bassett started the company, which makes high-quality T-shirts.

Designs vary between messages and graphic designs, and are available in men's and women's sizes.

The shirts bear such messages as ''My Body, My Laws,'' and ''Evolve Beyond Prejudice,'' which Corsetti said reflect her philosophy and passions in life.

The company donates part of the sale of each T-shirt to Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

Corsetti, who recently bought out Bassett and is the sole owner of the company, said the first year has been a learning experience.

The company does a portion of its sales online, but Corsetti said they are also trying to build a bigger customer base in local stores.

Corsetti said she hopes some day to branch out into other types of clothing or do shirts for children, but for now she's focusing on the present.

''Right now I'm just comfortable and happy seeing people in my shirts,'' she said.

n Planned Parenthood of Northern New England -- -- ''Their mission is 'to ensure that all of us can get the health care and information we need to make responsible choices about our health -- and our lives!' I support (Planned Parenthood) and am currently donating $5 from the online sale of each tee to them.

It is so important to have every opportunity to keep our bodies safe and healthy.''

n BUST Magazine -- -- ''Bust is all about women and is a very empowering site. It talks about our lives, what's going on, what's new, and what's cool. It is totally up to date on all the best happenings and events. They are a wealth of resources too.''

n Daily Candy -- -- ''Daily Candy has all the info on what's new in fashion, food and things to do. A very cute, hip, and enjoyable site.''

n MySpace -- www.myspace. com/cocomagoo -- ''Everyone is on MySpace and I especially love connecting to people all over the world to spread the word about Coco Magoo tees. Plus it is fun to make a wicked cool page!''

n The Food Network -- -- ''I love to cook, bake, and eat! This Web site comes in so handy when you are craving something you have no idea how to make or you need an idea for something different.''
