Memorial Day parades being held in southern Maine today

— Memorial Day parades happening today:

PORTLAND: Begins at 10:30 a.m. Route is along Congress Street from Longfellow Square (at State Street) to Monument Square, where parade ends with a memorial ceremony.

SOUTH PORTLAND: Begins at 10:30 a.m. Route is Southern Maine Community College to Broadway to the roundabout on Ocean Street. Parade is followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at noon at Bug Light.

BATH: Begins at 10:30 a.m. Route is Congress Avenue to Lincoln Street to Centre Street for wreath-laying ceremony at the Soldier's Monument. Parade continues to Front Street and ends at Linden Street. Memorial service follows parade in Library Park.

YARMOUTH: Begins at 10 a.m. Route is West Elm Street at Yarmouth High School to Main Street. Memorial ceremony ends parade on Memorial Green in front of Town Hall.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH: Begins at 1 p.m. Route is Saco Avenue at the Old Orchard Beach Public Safety Building to Old Orchard Street to First Street to Memorial Park.

WESTBROOK: Begins at 10 a.m. Route is along Main Street from Longfellow Street to Riverbank Park. Parade ends with a memorial ceremony at the park's Dana Monument.

KENNEBUNKPORT: Begins at 9:30 a.m. Route is Temple Street to Maine Street to Spring Street, where parade stops on the Kennebunk River Bridge for a gun salute, then continues to Coopers Corner and returns to Dock Square, where the parade will end with a memorial ceremony.

LIMERICK: Begins about 10:30 a.m. Route is along School Street to White-Tibbetts Memorial Park, where a memorial ceremony will be held.

KENNEBUNK: Begins at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall on Main Street with a short band concert. Parade progresses along Main Street and stops on Mousam River Bridge to briefly honor sailors, then continues to High Street and Route 1 before returning to Town Hall along the same route.

FALMOUTH: Begins at 10 a.m. Route is from the American Legion Home on Depot Street to Foreside Road, ending at Pine Grove Park for memorial program. After the program, all attendees are invited to St. Mary's Episcopal Church for refreshments.

CUMBERLAND: Begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Tuttle Road and Main Street. Proceeds up Main to the Moss Side Cemetery for a memorial ceremony, then returns down Main to the start point.

GORHAM: Begins at 11 a.m.  Route is Village School to Lincoln Street to South Street to Main Street, where there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at Phinney Park Monument. The parade will then proceed to Johnson Road and end with a ceremony at Eastern Cemetery. A wreath-laying ceremony will also be held at 9 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery on Huston Road.

WELLS: Begins at 9 a.m. at Wells High School and proceeds to Wells Corner, then to Ocean View Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.

BRUNSWICK-TOPSHAM: Begins at 8:45 a.m. at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham (ceremony at Monument Place) and proceeds to the gazebo at the Brunwick mall on Maine Street, where a ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
