Portland Pirates' Weekend

— After winning once in five consecutive road games, the Portland Pirates, the last-place team in the AHL's Atlantic Division, return to the Cumberland County Civic Center for their next four games. Rookie center Tyler Ennis has a team-high six goals, while veteran forward Mark Mancari leads team Pirates with seven assists. Rookie defenseman Dennis Persson, recovering from a concussion, may miss a second consecutive weekend, and an injury to Brad Larsen's left leg is expected to sideline him for another 3 to 6 weeks.

TODAY, 7 P.M.

WHO: Lowell Devils at Pirates

WHERE: Cumberland County Civic Center

NOTES: Veteran center Tom Sistito has a team-high six goals, and second-year defenseman Matt Taormina leads the team with seven assists. Mike McKenna, one of three former Pirates on Lowell's roster, has a 1.98 goals-against average and two shutouts in five games.

SATURDAY, 7 P.M.

WHO: Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Pirates

WHERE: Cumberland County Civic Center

NOTES: Former University of Maine center Greg Moore, a Lisbon native who spent the past four seasons with the Hartford Wolf Pack, leads the Sound Tigers in scoring with four goals and three assists. Left wing Trevor Smith is next with three goals and three assists for Bridgeport, which is affiliated with the New York Islanders. The Bridgeport lineup includes Trevor Gillies, an extremely physical forward who spent two seasons with Portland. He has 30 penalty minutes in three games.
