Fighting cancer is one of the best causes you'll find. Ever.

And if all you have to do to throw a few hearty punches at the disease is purchase a ticket and then drink some great wine, well ... why wouldn't you?

Tonight's 6 to 8 p.m. Good Wine for a Good Cause event benefits the Cancer Community Center. Tickets are $25 in advance (until 3 p.m. today) and can be purchased here, at the Cancer Community Center (778 Main St., South Portland) or at RSVP Discount Beverage Center (887 Forest Ave., Portland). Tickets are $30 at the door. Port City Music Hall is hosting the fundraiser.

Attendees will meet winemakers, owners and importers and will get plenty of opportunities to taste their wares. Expect more than 125 wines available for tasting, as well as some new beers and ciders.

All proceeds, of course, go to the Cancer Community Center.
