SPACE Gallery in Portland was packed tonight with members and supporters of Portland Buy Local, an organization that promotes the benefits of independently owned businesses. The occasion was the fourth annual Indie Biz Awards and the fifth anniversary of the organization's founding. Above, Stuart Gersen of Longfellow Books accepts the Soul of Portland award from emcee Rachel Flehinger, who is with the Running with Scissors improv comedy troupe.
Taking home two awards tonight was the Portland Farmers Market, represented by Larry Bruns of Hanson Field Flower Farm. The popular market won the Environmental Hero award and the Business with No Front award.
Winning Portland's Best Kept Secret award was Lucid Stage, represented by Liz McMahon.
