It was standing room only this evening during the annual WMPG Fashion Show at Space Gallery.
The music was pumping, as more than 20 Maine designers suited up dozens of local gals (and a few guys) to show off their fabric-fabulous creativity. Chris Kast served as the emcee and added his signature flair to the evening's events. As usual, fashion insider Paul Drinan was responsible for organizing the festivities, with all the proceeds going to community radio station WMPG's effort to upgrade its transmitter.
Here are a couple of fun pieces from the runway:
This is Miss Maine USA Katie Whittier, who will compete in the Miss USA pageant on NBC May 16, wearing a Helton Hill up-cycled vintage dress with ruffled skirt.
Here designer Eva Collins wears her own fitted satin top dress with plunging back and knee-length tulle skirt.
Emmy shows off an Erica Smith pink and orange linen princess line dress with white twisted halter.
I'll have lots more photos and details about the lines and the designers behind them in next weekend's Scene & Heard section of the Maine Sunday Telegram. I hope you'll check it out.
