End of October greetings, music fans. I’ll be honest, Halloween really isn’t my cup of tea but have at it with whatever you do to ring it in. Speaking of holidays, my Christmas/holiday spirit has also been off these past few years so I’m going to try really hard this season to get it back. A step in the right direction is learning that one of favorite all-time singers, Carol Noonan, is working on her second Christmas CD. Speaking of Noonan, I was just at the Stone Mountain Arts Center last weekend for one of the best Dar Williams performances I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen quite a few). By the way, Stone Mountain Arts Center, HUGE congrats for hitting the 5 year mark!
On a quick non-musical but local awesomeness note, I recently saw Elizabeth Peavey’s one-woman show “My Mother’s Clothes Are Not My Mother” at the St. Lawrence Arts Center. It was show # 3 on a series of 4 sold-out shows and it was absolutely sensational. The good news is that three more shows have been added! The Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Not to be missed!
Back to music, check out my ‘Making Noise’ local music Q&A with Doug Cowan (Welterweight) www.pressherald.com/life/go/sings-plays-lead-writes-___-but-he-still-needs-musical-friends_2011-10-27.html
Also, here's my interview with Joey Santiago from the Pixies.

She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
