Although it came out on September 20th, I just got around to picking up a copy of Tori Amos' latest record 'Night of Hunters.' Here's an excerpt from ToriAmos.com "Night of Hunters is a 21st century song cycle that finds Tori drawing on themes from Satie, Granados, Chopin and other great composers. It tells a modern love story that is only unraveled after a journey to Ireland's mythic past. Guests include such esteemed players as The Apollon Musagete Quartet and the Berlin Philharmonic clarinet soloist Andreas Ottensamer." Her daughter Natashya sings with her mom on three of the songs. 'Night of Hunters' is stunning and enthralling. Amos is currently on tour for the record and she'll be at the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday, December 6th. I just checked and there are still some seats left. Head to ticketmaster.com FMI. Wow, this April marks 20 years since I first saw Tori live and there are few performers who put on more riveting shows than her. As far as I'm concerned, it's Tori's world. I'm just living in it.
Aimsel Ponti has been obsessed with - and inspired by- music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
