One of my absolute favorites is coming to Portland on Tuesday night, May 1. Canadian singer-songwriter KATHLEEN EDWARDS just released the fantastic new record "Voyageur" and will be playing lots of songs from it, like this one:
as well as plenty from "Failer," "Back to Me," and "Asking for Flowers." Personally, I'm hoping she plays "Goodnight, California" from "Flowers" and "Mercury" from "Failer" but either way, she'll have this fan at hello. Hannag Georgas, who by the way is also terrific, opens the show.
By the way, I know this is an odd flyer photo, but I love how you can see the iconic time and temp building in the reflection so I decided to go with it. Portland rules!
Speaking of going...
IF U GO:
WHEN: Doors open at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1
WHERE: Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress St. here in wonderful Portland
HOW MUCH: The $30 VIP tix are sold out but there's still general admission ones for $18 now or $20 at the door. Just be at least 18.

Aimsel Ponti has been obsessed with - and inspired by- music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
