If you want to see an epic cross-section of some of Portland's best local music, look no further than The Big Easy tonight. (Friday! May 25th!). AND...you can support a terrific cause. "Listen Up" (head to creativetrails.org FMI) is a local non-profit music program that works with and encourages individuals with intellectual uniqueness. As you'll see on the flyer pic, this night is about local artists coming together to benefit and raise awareness for this program and its participants.

Aimsel Ponti has been obsessed with - and inspired by- music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
