I've loved singer-songwriter Melissa Ferrick melissaferrick.com since her "Massive Blur" CD was released back in the 90s.
It's been a couple of years since I've seen her perform live but I can assure you she always puts on a dynamic performance with charm and her acoustic firestorm of tunes. And so yeah, I'm looking forward to the show on Saturday night for sure.
Here she is singing one of my favorites "To Let You See Me" youtube.com/watch and here's a clip of "Some Kinda Nerve" youtube.com/watch
Here's the skinny on the show:
WHEN: Saturday, November 3 at 8 p.m.
WHERE: One Longfellow Square, 181 State St., Portland
HOW MUCH: $20 in advance; $25 at the door

Aimsel Ponti has been obsessed with - and inspired by- music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
