Good Morning Good People.
Just wanted to let you know about a terrific show coming to Portland on March 7.
Singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier (pronounced Go-Shay) will be performing at One Longfellow Square onelongfellowsquare.com
Originally from New Orleans, Gauthier wound up in Nashville but not before spending several years in Boston.
She's the real deal with no shortage of raw and gritty storytelling lyrics.
Tix are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
I saw Gauthier live at the Tupelo Music Hall when she toured for her 2005 album "Mercy Now."
She's quite a compelling performer.
Here's the title track from that record: youtube.com/watch

Aimsel Ponti has been obsessed with - and inspired by- music since she listened to Monkees records borrowed from the town library when she was six years old. She's a huge fan of the local music scene and interviews an act every week for "Making Noise" which runs in the Press Herald GO section. You'll also find her out and about absorbing live music like a sponge and roaming around local record shops and flea markets.
