In a birth that coincided nicely with a week-long congressional break, Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-1st, is a grandmother for the second time.
The mother is Pingree's daughter, Hannah, a former Maine House speaker. The baby's name is Elsie and she was born in the wee hours Sunday morning at PenBay Hospital in Rockport, Pingree spokesman Willy Ritch said. Elsie is the first child for Hannah and her husband, Jason Mann,.
Pingree's first grandchild is Smith, the son of Pingree's son, Asa.
