Elizabeth Johnson started as an intern in high school and rose to a full time job as Sen. Susan Collins' deputy press secretary. But now the South China native has moved on after 11 years, though not too far.
Johnson, 27, has moved from Dirksen Senate Office Building to the next Capitol Hill building down Constitution Avenue, the Russell Senate Office Building, and she has traded working in the communications shop for one New England Republican female senator for another, freshman Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.
About her new gig, Johnson said, "I loved working for Senator Collins and am so proud of all that she has accomplished for Maine. I'm also excited about this new opportunity to work for Senator Ayotte and to be a part of another terrific New England team."
