A Maine nurse will be in a White House roundtable discussion this afternoon about breast cancer treatment and research.
Marguerite “Peggy” Belanger, a breast health nurse and Cancer Care Coordinator at Southern Maine Medical Center, is among those participating in one of what the Obama administration calls its “Champions of Change” program. This roundtable, led by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Chief of Staff Tina Tchen, focuses on the future of breast cancer treatment and how to move forward in the effort to end the disease, the White House says.
“Three years ago Peggy and a small group of like - minded individuals established the Harbour Singers, a committed group of volunteers who offer peace and the gift of music for people in their end of life journey,” the White House said in a release about the roundtable, which begins at 4:15 p.m. and can be watched on a web cast.
