WASHINGTON -- Angus King will hold a press conference in the Capitol on Wednesday morning during which he is expected to finally settle questions over which party he will caucus with when he officially takes his Senate seat.
The senator-elect from Maine announced plans late Tuesday for a 9:15 a.m. news conference near the Senate chamber. On Tuesday, King told reporters that he hoped to finalize his decision in time to participate in Wednesday's election of party leaders in the Senate.
King, an independent who served two terms as Maine governor, has refused to say with which party he would caucus although he is widely believed to be leaning toward the Democrats.
