Joe Yonan, food and travel editor for The Washington Post, will be at Rosemont Market Produce Company, 5 Commercial Street, Portland on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. to talk about his latest book, "Eat Your Vegetables: Bold Recipes for the Single Cook."
Yonan will offer tastes of some of his recipes and sign copies of the book purchased at the event from co-sponsor Rabelais Books of Biddeford.
Here's what the author has to say about "Eat Your Vegetables":
Whether you’re a single vegetarian, an omnivore who’s looking to incorporate more vegetables in your life, or a lone vegetarian in a meat-eating household, you know the frustrations of trying to shop, plan, and cook for one ... Eat Your Vegetables offers practical information on shopping for, storing, and reusing ingredients, as well as essays on a multitude of meatless topics, including moving beyond mock meat and the evolution of vegetarian restaurants.
