The "daily punch" at Portland Hunt & Alpine Club (Photo by Ted Axelrod/Axelrod Photography)
You've heard, no doubt, of a pub crawl, which originated in the U.K. as a means of drinking copious amounts of beer in many places in one night.
A punch crawl sounds far more refined, especially because punches are the hottest thing in cocktails right now.
Bols Genever and Thirst Boston are hosting a Punch Crawl on Monday, Oct. 21 that stops at three Portland hot spots:
Eventide Oyster Co. 86 Middle St., 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Portland Hunt & Alpine Club 75 Market St., 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Sonny's, 83 Exchange St., 7:30 - 9 p.m.
If you want to drink the punch, it's basically free. Representatives from Bols and Thirst will be at each location, dispensing punch and giving away swag. And knowing the talented bartenders at all three locations, what's in your punch cup will undoubtedly be delicious.
UPDATE: Here are the punch details:
Meredith Goad has harvested oysters on the Chesapeake Bay, eaten reindeer in Finland and sipped hot chai in the Himalayas. She writes the weekly Soup to Nuts column and enjoys a good cocktail.
