The American-French Geneological Society is once again selling its popular cookbook, "Je Me Souviens La Cuisine de la Grandmere" (I Remember Grandmother's Kitchen), just in time for the holidays.
If you've forgotten all your high school French, no worries. The 400-plus recipes inside are written in English. Included are family recipes for tourtieres (pork pie), sugar pie, pea soup and ragout. To browse a full index to all of the recipes, go to AFGS.org.
The cookbooks cost $15 each, plus $4 for shipping and handling. (For more than one cookbook, add $2 shipping and handling per book.) Send a check or money order to AFGS, P.O. Box 830, Woonsocket, RI 02895-0870. You can also order online at AFGS.org by clicking on the cookbook link.
