Server Mayda Perez at Tipico (Press Herald file photo)
Tipico opened in September at 539 Deering Ave., in a plain-Jane storefront across from Big Sky Bread Company. With a cafeteria-style steam table and inexpensive, a la carte menu, it's one of Portland's few options for authentic mofongo, tostones and other flavorful dishes of owner Julio Venas' native Domincan Republic.
And now, Vinas wants his customers to be able to enjoy beer and wine with their meals there. Tonight, the Portland City Council will hear Vinas' application, which is expected to be approved.
