After the holiday hubbub, nevermind several months of going at full-tilt, it's not unusual for Maine restaurant folks to take some time off to clean, rest and recharge for the new year. Via Facebook and email, these are the temporary closings we're aware of; we'll update this list as need be.
The Salt Exchange, Portland: Closed until Friday, Jan. 10 for lunch and dinner for "deep cleaning, making repairs and updating."
Petite Jacqueline, Portland: Closed all day Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Portland Hunt & Alpine Club, Portland: Closed until Friday, Jan. 10 "to re-group, work on menus and celebrate our staff."
Hugo's, Portland: Closed until dinner service on Thursday, Jan 9 "for a little R+R (research and recuperation)."
Tao Yuan, Brunswick: Closed until Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Sonny’s, Salvage BBQ and Local 188, Portland: Closed until Thursday.
Fore Street, Portland:Closed until Wednesday night.
Marcy's Breakfast & Lunch, Portland: Closed until Feb. 10.
