Portland chef Shannon Bard will be preparing a five-course "Mexico Meets Maine"-themed dinner for 80 guests at the James Beard House in New York City on Monday evening.
Bard, who owns Portland's Zapoteca Restaurante Y Tequileria and Mixteca in Durham, N.H. with her husband Tom, has been preparing for the event for weeks.
Maine Today Media content producer Susan Axelrod will be in NYC Monday to document the dinner for MaineToday.com and Maine a la Carte, so check back here for updates. She'll also be covering the event for the Tuesday edition of the Portland Press Herald.
